Hartley Hightower
Hartley Hightower is an author of novels and novellas centered on love stories that don't always meet the genre expectations of romance--she's as interested in the problems of being in love as the conflicts of falling in love. Her characters are often smart, complicated middle-aged people at a crossroads of personal crisis, self-realization, and erotic discovery she likes to call "coming of middle age", pun sometimes intended.
Hartley's writing is AI-free and outrageously human, featuring adult themes, complex coping mechanisms, mixed motivations, quirks, kinks, and big mistakes. She aims for a mature audience with a tolerance for risqué topics and moral ambiguity.
Hartley's self-published debut duology was the 2024 historical adventure-romance Angel Pirate: Cannibal Camellia and Angel Pirate: Queen of Pirates, available via Amazon.
Born and raised in the Midwest, Hartley earned a B.A. in English Language and Literature. She now resides in the Pacific Northwest with her husband, two cats, and an unmanageable collection of plants. While her day job in health care currently supports her writing habit, she hopes to one day be free to write full time.
